Recipe Box

I am opening my handmade recipe box to you.

Some of the recipes I share with you were handed down from my mother, aunties, grandmothers, and friends; others I created over the years.

Feeding a family on a limited budget and a desire for good-tasting, nourishing meals inspires creativity!

I hope you will put your own creative touches on my recipes and make them your own. You are the Queen of your kitchen. (However, I do ask that if you share my recipes and other projects that you link back to or credit Chocolate Box Cottage. It’s courtesy, thank you.)

I also hope you will keep a real recipe box in addition to the electronic one in the cloud. Recipes written in your own handwriting that you can refer to and run your fingers through and treasure during your time in the kitchen, and then pass on to your family.

And if you are so blessed as to still have your mother, aunts, and grandmothers living, I hope you will take the time and effort to record their recipes on simple index cards. Don’t forget Grandpa! Mine made excellent home-brewed rootbeer, which I hope to recreate and share with you someday!
